A great practical guide to getting serious HPReview date: 2010-02-16 Rating: 10 out of 10I have been building and modifying cars for over 20 years and this is one of the better tuning books I have read.
Unlike many other books, (like the David Vizard A series guide which is the most badly edited book ever written), this is clearly laid out, sets out realistic performance goals and shows you how to acheive them.
I think it is pitched perfectly for experienced tuners but it would also enable you to take your first steps. The most impressive information is in the head section, which provides information not available anywhere else.
I do wish there was room for forced induction, nitrous applications and in depth twinspark data, but perhaps that will be another book for the future. Looking forward to his V6 book for sure.
Proof of the pudding is in the dyno and I built a solid 187bhp 2000cc engine using his instructions so I have given it 5 stars. Great job Mr. K!

The author may well know what he is talking about, and probably does, but the book really suffers from not being properly edited. It is badly laid out and written and is punctuated inappropriately with, particularly, loads of irritating exclamation marks.
Its a shame as the author is obviously enthusiastic.
